Maternity sessions during the winter months can absolutely be done outdoors as long as it’s not raining. It’s actually a great way to document your pregnancy since the wintery landscape helps tell the story of the time of year you expect your baby. I have a few different locations I can suggest in the winter months, but this particular one seems to have color and/or something blooming almost every time I’m there.
I did Holiday Mini Sessions in my Salem photo studio over the course of several days. This year I had an airbed set up in with a Christmas theme and had kids come in wearing their Christmas jammies which was a lot of fun!
We met in Wilsonville’s Memorial Park for some family photos on a cloudy afternoon. Most of the leaves had migrated from the trees to the ground so we made sure to sit in them which worked just fine! I love this park for family photos in the fall, there’s so many good spots to use and a lot of colorful leaves.
Baby Theo is a cutie patootie and has such a great smile! He came into my portrait studio for a sitter Milestone Session. This is one of my favorite ages to photograph, usually when babies are around 6-7 months and sitting pretty well. We kept it simple with one outfit and then just a diaper cover (and a few without!) to keep the focus just on Theo.
This little guy was about two months old when he came into my Salem photo studio for a milestone session. I have a few props that work with older babies like this wood crate, and any of my solid color fabric backgrounds work really well. He even borrowed a pair of hand knit fuzzy shorts I have in the studio for babies in the 2-3 month range. Babies of all ages are welcome in my studio!
