Meet Baby Crosby

I traveled for Crosby’s Newborn Mini Session to her home. I always bring my studio lighting, equipment, and props so photos look the same as photos done in my Salem studio. We did family photos on mom and dad’s bed which worked well with her two older brothers. For the sibling photos I had the boys lay down on the floor and I photographed them from above- the safest way to do it with young kids! For this session I also brought my faux wood flooring. If you have wood floors (real or laminate doesn’t matter) in your home I will use them, but occasionally a client won’t have them or won’t like the color of the wood floors they have so the faux wood floors come in useful. They roll up like a rug so they are easy to bring.

Alex Senior Photos

I’ve been having so much fun photographing several high school seniors I know from my kids’ Scout troop this summer! Alex is a sweet kid whom I’ve had the pleasure of working on several merit badges with, including photography. Yep, I teach the photography merit badge 🙂 Alex and his parents met me at one of my favorite parks and we managed to get some pretty good expressions out of him, some that are very “Alex”. He also brought his cello along and even played it a little for me by the creek.

Meet Baby Theodore

I did Theodore’s newborn session in his home which made it easy for his parents as he’s the youngest of four kids (and the first time I’ve done four siblings newborn photos!). He wasn’t especially sleepy, feeding off his three older sister’s energy I’m sure. I really love the photo of him in his dad’s hands, such a sweet portrait.

Spring Maternity

It’s so nice when the weather cooperates for spring maternity sessions! We actually dodged the rain for this session, the raindrops started just as we were wrapping up so it was a close call. Deepwood Estates is a lovely spring location with all the blooming flowers. It makes for a beautiful backdrop for maternity photos. I recommend that you book your maternity session for when you’re between 32-36 weeks pregnant so that you’re nice and round but not *too* uncomfortable. We also don’t want baby to arrive before your maternity session date!

Studio Maternity

While the majority of my maternity session clients prefer to be outdoors for their photos I do have the option of doing your session in my studio. This is especially important during the winter/spring when the weather doesn’t always want to cooperate. Another bonus is that my studio is right across the hall from the bathroom, an important feature when you’re pregnant! Mini Maternity Sessions only take about 20 minutes and you can wear your own dress (like Lynne did here) or you can use one of the maternity gowns from my prop closet. These are short and sweet and meant to capture how beautiful you are while pregnant. I highly recommend doing them, you won’t regret it!
