Fall Family Mini

I met this family at a local Salem park at the height of fall color in mid-November. The leaves were orange and all over the place! We even tossed them around at the end of the session for some fun photos with leaves in the air. It can be hard to predict when the best fall color will happen, but it always seems to be in late October or November when the weather can be unpredictable and the rain can knock down all the pretty leaves. If colorful leaves are a priority for you late fall is definitely the best time for fall family photos.

Fall Family Mini Session

I met this family in a local Salem park for a Fall Family Mini Session. We chose this location specifically as it’s quieter with fewer people and distractions. They were also able to bring their dog to be included in the family photos since it’s a dog-friendly park. Even though we did the session in the second half of October the trees were still pretty green and the leaves hadn’t really started turning yet. Seems like fall color really starts to pop in November which is pretty late in the season for decent weather!

Halloween Mini Sessions

I offered Halloween Mini Sessions again this year which was a lot of fun! I had lots of kids come in to the studio for quick 5-10 min photo sessions of them in their costumes. I had lots of small pumpkins on hand along with my wooden crate to fit siblings together. I love seeing the creative costumes, they’re so much fun! These are different from my regular Mini Sessions since they’re super quick and meant to only have 3-5 finished photos (depending on how many kids are photographed) so they are priced lower than my usual Mini Sessions. Fall Family Mini Session

This family met me on an overcast morning at a local Salem park location. While I was disappointed it was overcast, I was glad we managed to avoid the rain that started not too long afterwards! Outdoor sessions in the fall always run the risk of poor weather. Generally I will do sessions as long as it’s not actively raining. If you prefer to reschedule that’s an option as well, but overcast photos can turn out nicely as well. I love the outfits they chose and how well they coordinated and used layers. Layers always photograph well.

Meet Baby Theo

Baby Theo came to my Studio photo studio for his newborn Mini Session and slept through almost the entire thing! His parents chose green, blue, and white for his photo session which looked great. I especially love the green! We even caught a hint of a smile so apparently Theo likes the green too. Mini Sessions are best done when babies are between 7-14 days old, but the timing is a little less critical than it is for Full Newborn Sessions. I frequently do them with older newborns and since I keep babies wrapped the whole time, they are usually happy and sessions go just fine.
