I was so excited when Esther’s parents contacted me about doing a newborn session! I actually have one of her big sister’s newborn photos hanging on my studio wall. Her parents asked for pinks and purples and since she needed a passport photo (just like her big sister!) I brought along a white wrap and bonnet I knitted to use with the white background to make it a littler more girly. Passport photos for newborns are NOT the easiest, but I waited until she was awake to attempt it and it was easier than the first time around. Esther was a super easy baby to work with and I had just told her parent’s that about 30 seconds before she had a huge blowout poop all over my lap! I hadn’t been pooped or peed on in some time so I guess I was about due…occupational hazard and no, it doesn’t really bother me all that much. I always have laundry after a newborn session so it’s not exactly a big deal to toss in an extra shirt or pair of shorts while I’m at it.
