I had a fabulous time with these two gorgeous young ladies playing around in my favorite field. I haven’t had a chance to photograph a lot of seniors but that’s something I’m looking to change, it’s just so much FUN! We met at a local salon (Envy for Dallas locals!) where our make up artist did a fabulous job putting the finishing touches on the girls. The weather wasn’t as fabulous as I had hoped, but we made due and managed to get some great images despite the clouds. In preparation for our session I spent some time working on poses in my bathroom mirror which earned me some funny looks from my kids and husband. I don’t ask a client to do anything I’m not willing to do (or model for them!) and by working the poses in the mirror myself I have a better understanding of what it feels like. It seems like the more awkward you feel in a pose the better it looks, although I think having a friend along makes things easier because if you don’t believe me that you look awesome your best friend won’t lie! Mary and Hannah rocked all the awkward and goofy poses I had for them and I’m thankful for their adventurous spirit. They’ve been friends since they were 8 which ironically enough is the same age I was when I met my best friend through high school. And yes we’re still in contact, just had a play date with our kids at the park last night!
Photographing two friends together worked really well, and I would highly encourage it. It’s a lot more fun and the memories we make will be something you’ll treasure.
