I met Megyn and her mom in the morning just after school drop off to take her four year old portraits in time for her birthday next month. Hard to believe she’s turning four, she was one of the very first newborns I photographed! Last year’s portrait session she wasn’t a very happy camper but that was explained very shortly afterward when she wound up having surgery to have her appendix removed. This year she was all smiles and was a perfect model, what a difference a year and feeling good can make!
I forget how pretty morning light can be, but it’s a great time of day to do young children and babies portraits since they are usually at their freshest and best. Late afternoon golden hour lighting is fabulous, but also coincides with that difficult time right around dinner time when young kids are not so enthusiastic about smiling for the camera. Feel free to ask about a morning session when you’re booking your baby or child’s next portrait session!
